Holiday Magic, Santa Sightings & What’s Next for the On the Farm Collection

Dear Friend,

I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season and finding time to slow down and spend meaningful moments with the people who matter most to you.

The holidays always seem to bring out a little extra magic, and sometimes a lot of laughter. I wanted to share a few moments from this past week with you.

A Very Festive Book Encounter

In the true spirit of the season, I had a pretty unforgettable moment at an event this past weekend. I was minding my own business at my booth when Mrs. Claus stopped by. She told me how much she loved my books and said she’d be back to buy them once her husband, Santa, finished doing his thing.

A few minutes later, Santa himself walked by, eyeing the books. He joined Mrs. Claus, and before I knew it, they were playfully arguing about my books, Santa insisting she should just get them now, and Mrs. Claus insisting she’d come back later. It was hilarious.

Needless to say, Mrs. Claus did come back… and left with two copies of each book. I guess even Santa can’t resist a good story.

A Little Sneak Peek

I know you already know that the third book in the On the Farm Collection is currently being finished up at the printer, and that alone is exciting. But here’s a little extra behind-the-scenes news: we’ll also be starting illustrations very soon on the fourth book in the collection.

Can you guess who the main character might be?

On top of that, I’m beginning another project that’s incredibly close to my heart, a standalone book inspired by my two boys. It’s still early, and we’re ironing out details with the illustrator, but I can’t wait to share more with you as it comes to life.

I also had one of the most memorable book signings yet this past weekend. I was asked to sign Millie Lost Her Nose to… Death Star.

I paused and said, “What?”

Turns out, a niece or nephew is due on May the 4th, and for now, they’ve lovingly nicknamed the baby “Death Star.” I can confidently say that’s one of the most interesting names I’ve ever written in a book. Wherever you are, little Death Star, I hope you love Millie’s story.

As this is the final newsletter of the year, I just want to pause for a moment and say thank you. This past year has been nothing short of amazing. One year ago, Millie Lost Her Nose had just entered the world, and since then, I could have never imagined the places these stories would go or the people they would reach.

From school visits and markets, to hospitals, libraries, and homes all over the country — and even across the world — this year has shown me that stories truly matter. More importantly, you matter. Your encouragement, kind words, shared photos, and belief in these little farm friends have carried me through every doubt and every long night.

We are still at the beginning, but what a beautiful beginning it has been. Thank you for being part of this first year. I can’t wait to see what the next one holds.

Thank you, as always, for being part of this journey with me. Your support, encouragement, and shared laughter mean more than I can put into words.

Wishing you a season filled with warmth, wonder, and plenty of stories worth remembering.

Until next time,
A.B. Wade
