Holiday Reflections, School Visit Stories & Big News for Book Three

Dear Friend,

I hope this message finds you well as we head into the heart of the holiday season. I’ve got some fun stories and exciting updates, so let’s dive in!

A School Visit to Remember

I had such a blast at a school visit this week. The kids were amazing, the teachers were wonderful, and the whole day was filled with moments that reminded me why I love doing this.

One moment in particular stuck with me: while I was signing books after my presentation, a sweet, shy boy walked up and handed me his books. Then, with a quiet smile, he held out a slice of pecan pie in a ziplock bag. They had been learning about baking, and he wanted me to have some. I was so genuinely touched that a child would think to share something so special with me—it meant the world.

Then a little girl came up, confidently introduced herself, and said, “My name is _, and I am your biggest fan.” My heart absolutely melted. These kids are incredible, and I feel so grateful every time I get to be part of their day.

The Vendor Life: A Roller Coaster

After attending so many vendor events this year, I think I’ve finally found the perfect way to describe the experience: a roller coaster.

I’m naturally an introvert, but becoming an author has slowly brought out a more extroverted side of me. Still, putting your own creation on a table and watching people react in real time is… a lot. Some people glance at the book and walk away. Others say the classic line, “We’re just looking around; we’ll come back” and then you watch them buy something at the next booth.

But then come the moments that lift you higher than you’d ever expect:
People saying they love these books.
Parents telling me they’ve read Millie or Maudette “a million times.”
Kids running up saying it’s their favorite bedtime story.
People wishing I had more books because they want to take the whole series home.

The highs and lows are real, but I’m finding that with every event, the hills get a little softer and the valleys get a little smaller. And through it all, I’m thankful, truly, because every person I meet adds something special to this journey.

BIG NEWS: Book 3 is with the Printer!

It’s official! Emma Lee Spots Her Spot is now at the printer for production review! I’ll keep you posted as soon as I hear more.

And a huge thank you to everyone who replied to the “One Year of Millie” giveaway. I hope you enjoy your free book and Millie sticker as much as I loved sending them.

Thank you for being here, truly. Your encouragement, your emails, your stories, your kindness… it all means more than you know. This journey is wild, unpredictable, and beautiful, and I’m grateful I get to share it with you.

Wishing you the best as we head into Thanksgiving week.
Until next time,
